For the last two years I’ve enjoyed working with members of Mosaic as chair of the LN Product Community. As a member of the board it will be both interesting and challenging to help lead the community toward our goals; it will give me the opportunity to work in a broader team environment.
I led the formation, and am now chair of the LN Product Community. This involves managing a monthly meeting and coordinating guest speakers. The Mosaic Symposiums of 2008 and 2009 provided interesting and new experiences in being part of those planning teams and I further enjoyed speaking at the 2008 Inforum conference.
I’m a ‘hands on’ person and possess good communication skills. My background includes 12 years of experience working in a ‘build to order’ manufacturing environment. I’ve had the opportunity to engage with Mosaic partners (consultants), Infor PSOs, Infor product managers, the support center at Grand Rapids and, of course, other companies running Baan 4 and ERP LN. This has given me a somewhat unique ‘big picture’ view of how the different components of the community fit together. I strongly believe in the sharing of information so as to achieve best practices. After two full ERP implementations at our site, I understand and appreciate the benefit of knowledge and education that can be shared amongst us.
I would enjoy serving on the board as I feel it would broaden my perspective on the industry and sharpen my own level of knowledge. On a more personal note it would be nice to meet other people in various areas of the industry both from a provider and a user perspective.
By having a broader understanding of Mosaic, learning best practices from other companies and perhaps expanding on the capabilities of the community, we may be able to advance the use of our own ERP system.

Joining the Mosaic Board of Directors would allow me to share my experience and knowledge with the intention of enhancing the user group experience. I would like to take an active role in membership believe this is a key approach to staying involved and making a difference. I have been a Mosaic Board member in the past and miss the experience. I have also, for many years, been present at the user conferences both as a speaker and as an attendee.
Being a member of Mosaic has truly enhanced me as a person and a professional by giving me the opportunity to collaborate with other companies. Additionally, I think that sharing my experiences could provide others with similar benefit. My company is actively deploying some cutting edge technology and business methodologies that I would love to share with the group. I would also like to get ideas and best practices from other members on the board to bring back to MGM MIRAGE. Our current management encourages joining user groups and the collaboration process.

I would like to serve on the Mosaic Board of Directors for several reasons. First and foremost I have sincere desire to see Mosaic move forward and grow. I have been a part of the various forms of the user group for the last 10 years. In that time I have actively participated at conferences and worked to ensure that the organization continues to provide quality content for Its membership. I have benefitted greatly over the years being a part of this organization and would like to be able to give back tangibly to it through active participation in its leadership.
Throughout my years with the user group, whether it be BWU, SSAU User Groups or Mosaic, I have served in various capacities within the organization. I have worked as a moderator, member of the Tools Subcommittee, aggressively pursued the creation of the BaanlV Product Community and served as its chair up until the time of taking the directors position on the Mosaic board of directors. I believe that the Mosaic User Group is an organization that is vital to help meet the needs of the community of users and that I can help to ensure that it continues to provide quality programming for its members.
Other volunteer positions which I have held are instructor for Junior Achievement. This organization helps to teach Junior High and High school kids business principles to set the foundation for the future business leaders of America. I was an Assistant Cub Scout leader for 6 years. I currently volunteer my time as a Rifle Coach for the MCSA Jr Rifle club which is an organization which teaches Olympic style shooting to 10-20 year olds. I also serve on the steering committee for Elizabeth Pregnancy Services. This is an organization which gives support to women of all ages who are experiencing an untimely or problem pregnancy. In this position I am responsible for overseeing the organization in both programming and financial matters.
I believe that Mosaic User Groups will gain from the years of experience that I have had within the organization as both a member and director. I have been through the many changes of the organization both the good and the bad and know what great value the organization can provide. Having gone through the struggles of starting up a new community I know that the task of growing the organization is not easy but also know it is not impossible. I believe I can benefit the organization by continuing to seek out new ways to provide value to the membership. I believe I and my company will benefit as well through helping the organization to grow through the development of additional networking and educational opportunities. I have learned much over the last two years and have enjoyed serving the community on the board. I hope to continue in that role if elected to a second term.

I have been involved with the Baan/LN/Infor user community for nearly fifteen years, and I have always enjoyed my time with the user community immensely. Over the last few years I was saddened to see the user groups and other forums reduce their vibrancy. Conversely, I am very pleased to see the re-invigoration of the Baan/LN community, and am keen to participate in the process, as this is something I strongly believe in. I have good experience in this type of role, having served four years on the BWU Fall Fair organizing committee, two of those years as the Partner Member Co-Chair. I hope to work with the other Mosaic Board Members and Mosaic staff to continue to build a strong and vibrant user community. A vibrant user community will benefit both users and technology/consulting partners, as we are all in this together and are stronger together.

My primary reason for serving on the Board again is I want to see Mosaic grow and thrive and I want to contribute to that success in any way I can. I think as a member of Mosaic it’s important to be willing to give something back to the organization.
I’m active in both the Infinium FMS & HCM Product Communities. I’ve been part of the team that has planned & delivered 2 successful Symposiums. I’ve also been developing an on-going relationship with the customer & alliance members of the Infinium User Group and with representatives from Infor which has been good for the Infinium user community.
I also volunteer on the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days committee as the Sponsorship Chairperson. I’ve brought new ideas on ways to improve our sponsorship program and fund raising opportunities.
I believe that Mosaic will continue to benefit from my desire to serve the user community. I’m a good listener and can help deliver the ideas of the Infinium user community to both the Board and Infor. I’d like to get more members involved in volunteering and taking ownership of the User Group. I’m very much a team player.
Being on the Board has given me lots of opportunities to grow and develop my leadership and communication skills. It’s taught me a lot about compromise and being open to other ideas. The relationships I’ve built with various people have been a great reward. All of the above things have been beneficial to both me and Pennfield.
